Walker Christian

Walker is still doing very well. He is starting to be more alert and interactive, although he is still pretty much in his own little newborn world. This morning he stayed awake for 3 hours (a new record), and he was so sweet and fun. He laid in his crib on his tummy for a while and stared at his exciting octopus toy while he listened to "Hide 'em in your Heart." Do you remember that, Lindsay? That CD (it was a tape at the time) has most of the scripture I have memorized on it! Then he turned over and watched his mobile for a while.

Then Mimi had a car accident near our house on her way to get Ben at wrestling. She was okay, but Aaron had to go get Ben, and Walker and I went to give her moral support while they waited on the police. The driver who hit her was of course uninsured and unlicensed. Walker rode along, enjoying the motion of the car and watching out the window. When we got back home, he played with his Daddy for a while and finally decided he was ready to eat lunch and take a nap.

It is so fun to be parents! We love it, and we are constantly amazed at the awesome responsibility the Lord has chosen to bestow upon us. It is exciting and a little overwhelming as we do our best to prepare our hearts and lives to raise Walker in a god-fearing home. I have been reading to him out of Genesis, and just today we got to a part where Isaac tells Abimelek that Rebekah is his sister rather than his wife because he is afraid. I was struck by the power of the example of your parents because this is exactly what Abraham had done to Abimelek with his wife Sarah years before. Isaac just followed in the footsteps of his father. I pray that Aaron and I will be granted the grace from God to set an example worthy of Walker following!

Now, here are some fresh pics of the boy!

Friday, November 11, 2005: All ready for his first trip to Mimi and Poppy's house!

Sleeping in a little on Saturday morning

I caught a glimpse of myself in the octopus mirror and thought, "Maybe I should be professionally good-looking for a living!"

Oh! Him's so cute! I think if he was professionally good looking for a living, we'd all be rich, rich, rich!
